5 Tips To Keep Your Skin Soft And Flawless

It's that time of the year again when the dry air attacks our nostrils, dust everywhere and the skin tends to get dry easily. In this season, the skin has a tendency to dry up quickly and the wind can be very assaulting to the respiratory system.

For you to maintain a flawless skin during this period, you sure have to work for it. Whilst there is little we can do about the weather outside, there is a lot we can do to protect our skin. Below are some tips to keep your skin soft and flawless throughout this period.

1. Use Natural Oils: Coconut oils are needed to support you this period and also act as a protective barrier against burning. For added sun protection, only a few drops of oil in your body moisturiser will suffice.

2. Use A Mild Cleanser: The Harmattan season is ideal for using gentle cleaners (try out ones with Rosewater and glycerin). If you want to remove your makeup, use a gentle cleanser and avoid alcohol, which dries out the skin.

3. Avoid Hot Showers: During the Harmattan season, avoid taking hot showers or spending too much time in the bathtub. This could strip the skin off it natural oil and dry out the skin. To reduce moisture loss, use lukewarm water instead.

4. Stay Hydrated: Due to the rate of the weather’s humidity, you would experience some dry sensation on your skin and throat. It's natural to become dehydrated and thirsty during this time of the year, so make sure you drink enough of water. This is one of the tips for keeping your skin smooth during harmattan. When you're out and about, always have a bottle of water with you.

5. Do Not Skip Moisturizing: Some people avoid moisturising on a daily basis, but don't even try it during harmattan season. This season, make your moisturiser your best friend. Always keep lip balm and moisturiser in your bag, pocket, or other easily accessible location.
